Trip to the Island

We got up Saturday morning and hopped on over to Mackinac Island.
We had a lot of fun, rode on a horse-drawn carriage, saw butterflies, and of course had to do the tourist tradition of having some fudge and ice cream!
Brandon and I thought the best part was going under the bridge on the ferry.
Cadence said her favorite was "horses, ice cream and riding on top of the boat",
Ainslee said "Got my head stuck"- to explain, on the way back to Mackinac City we rode on the top deck of the ferry, Ainslee decided to stick her head between the boat's railings and got her head stuck. She started staying "head stuck, head stuck", so I jumped up and twisted her head to get her out, she was a little shook up, but after she calmed down, we all laughed about it!!

Just getting on the ferry

Going under the bridge on the ferry, truly amazing!

Ballerinas and BB's

Don't Judge, Just Laugh!!!

We are destined to have both girly girls and tom boys, which makes both of us happy!

The girls dress up almost daily in their ballerina leotards and dance around, and yesterday, they got their first hand at hunting with daddy. We were outside and Brandon was target shooting with his bow, and the neighbor down the road started shooting his gun, apparently target shooting as well. Yes, I know we live in Northern Michigan, and this seems somewhat redneck! Anyway, Cadence asked to shoot daddy's bb gun, so he got it out and they shot balloons and a tin can.

Last year she asked to shoot, and Brandon said "When you get a little older you can shoot daddy's bb gun". Well she got all upset and started crying because she thought he said "baby gun", and she said "I'm not a baby, I'm a big girl".

Backyard Campfire

First campfire of the season, complete with roasted hotdogs and Smores!!

As I'm writing this, we are enjoying a lazy, rainy day at home. Brandon has the day off, we are all still in pajamas or comfy clothes, had a yummy breakfast of french toast, and have been playing in a very large "fort" that has used all of our blankets, it's been a nice family day so far.
