After a morning of playing outside with Daddy, the girls came inside for tea time, or I guess it would be hot chocolate time. Cadence did great pouring and serving, and Ainslee had no problem drinking it all up!
We took the girls to a Carnival at Central Elementary School in Petoskey last night. They LOVED it, we ate pizza, snow cones, and played lots of games. Getting their nails painted was definitely the highlight, this morning Cadence went up to Ainslee and said "You have bootiful nails Ainslee"! It was a great night all in all.
Emmy the Girls and I went on a church retreat last weekend. It was at Timberwolf Lodge (no not great wolf) just north of lake city. Timberwolf is affiliated with Young Life, and is a christian youth camp in the summer. Our accommodations were amazing. The gym, game room, meeting room and dining area were all with in a couple minute walk. It was a great weekend of fun, fellowship and let me tell you, food.
We started our morning with a short walk up to get a great breakfast. We then sang (and the girls danced) songs led by our praise team. We then listen to a short message about being a "hero" which was our theme for the weekend (that shows up again later).
We then did some fun group games to get to know each other. As you can see the Girls didn't have any trouble making friends. As a father I was okay with Westley holding Cadence's hand but when he asked her to come back to his room for nap time, I had to draw the line.
After lunch we had the whole afternoon to do with what we please. So the first thing on our minds were, naps. We knew the Girls needed to take a nap, well maybe mommy and daddy did to. We could tell Ainslee was tired because when she walked into the room she climbed right into her bed with out taking off her coat or setting down her milk.
After naps we still had the afternoon to do what we pleased. We decided to take the Girls to Kids Craft. There was a handful of different crafts for the Girls to do. They choose coloring a cup and making these stylish bags.
We also spent a lot of our time in the gym or game room. I think the Girls liked the game room because they could play some big kid games. Cadence's short little arms didn't make her much of a threat at air hockey but she made sure she let everyone know she won.
As I mentioned before the theme for this weekend was being a hero. Somehow I was volunteered to participate in a "Opera" about heroes.
I don't know how or why but I was picked to be "Super Duper Man", a superhero who loved to give hugs. To clarify when I say I was volunteered, I put on the costume and then I just repeated the lines up front and did what I was told. There was no warning on what was about to come next.
I will say that the whole family is looking forward to going again next year. We had a great time, plus I came home with a new pair of blue bell bottoms (rock on).
